The lifting posture affects the risk of injury. In determining the risk of injury, one should consider weight of objects as an important factor. One should be especially careful when lifting heavy items like storage boxes filled with files and other cases of paper. Objects should be held close to the body when lifting them because this creates less compressive force on the low back than when held further away. This is because muscles in the back have to work harder to counterbalance the weight when it is further form the body. The risk on muscle strains, ligament sprains and damage to the disks in the spine increase with the increase of comprehensive force on the lower back. Another way of increasing the risk of injury is by lifting objects from the floor. Bringing up objects close to your body when picking them up from the floor is difficult where knees can get in the way, if the objects are large. Then the low back must now support the weight of the upper body s one leans forward, in addition to supporting the weight of the item he is lifting. Lifting any object of any weight, no matter how light it is, increases the chances of injury in a bent over posture. It is good to plan ahead and decide how to lift, carry and place an item before picking it up. One should test the weight of the object by tipping it or moving it before picking it up. If possible break the load up by putting them in smaller containers in smaller portions. If the loads are abnormally heavy, one should get help and avoid lifting them on their own. The muscles of the upper body might be strong enough to handle the load, the muscles, ligaments and disks in your low back may not be because of the additional forces they have to withstand. One should get help from coworkers and try to use carts and hands trucks to move the objects.

Neutral posture is a comfortable working posture in which joint are naturally aligned and the risk of developing a musculoskeletal disorder is reduced. Neutral posture at the workstation helps prevent injury greatly. It is not healthy to sit still for long periods of time, regardless of how good one's posture is. Small adjustments to posture should be made at about 15 minutes interval. This can be achieved by changing the height of one's chair slightly or leaning back a little further into the backrest. Large posture changes like standing up and stretching, walking around for one or two minutes an hour is very important. A neutral posture should be practiced when seated by keeping the head level or tilted slightly downwards, preferably by placing the work in front so that one looks straight ahead at it. The shoulders should be relaxed when seated and not elevated, hunched or rotated forward and the elbows should be kept close to the sides and bent at about 900 angles and not extended out in front of the body. The chair's backrest should be used to support the lower back or lumber curve and one should sit with the entire upper body upright or leaning slightly back. The wrists should be kept straight while working and not bent up, down or to the side. The knees should be at the same level as the hips while seated and there should be no pressure points along the backs of the thighs or at the backs of the knees. The feet should be placed slightly i论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
