摘要:The present research mainly aims to answers the following three questions by adoptingqualitative and quantitative , descriptive research approach utilized questionnaires, classroomobservations and interviews。
4. Results and Discussion
4.1 Discussion
From the means in each table above in Parts 3.4.1, we may find teachers identify theteachers’ teaching beliefs stated in the questionnaire because the means of all Items are lessthan 2 except Items 9 is 2. This indicates English teachers identify the beliefs proposed inNew English Curriculum Standards. It was summarized into the following aspects about thecore ideas of teachers’ identity teaching beliefs from the questionnaires, they are: To focus on the unity of instruments and humanity. To stress on balancing language knowledge and language skills, to emphasize ondeveloping the learners’ language comprehensive competence through learning languageknowledge, to focus on students-centered teaching models and the learning process ofexperience and participation from students. To see students as the body and focus on the individuals’ generation anddevelopment.

Conclusion
The results of the present study show that teachers’ teaching beliefs are at the stage fromthe traditional to the advanced and there is inconsistence between teachers’ teaching beliefsand their teaching behaviors. Teachers have accepted the advanced teaching beliefs in theory,but they can not apply them to teaching practice. They need a long time to understand theadvanced teaching beliefs and then change the advanced teaching beliefs into their teachingbehaviors. Meanwhile, teachers need to learn, practice, reflect and adjust teaching beliefs andteaching behaviors from time to time in the course of changing the advanced teaching beliefsinto their teaching behaviors. Teacher trainers must know about teachers completely and finda kind of practicable training plans or methods if teacher trainers want teachers to accept theadvanced teaching beliefs and change from their traditional teaching beliefs to the advancedone. Teachers apply their advanced teaching beliefs to their teaching behaviors only ifteachers really understand the advanced teaching beliefs. It is necessary to focus more onteachers’ teaching practice if we want to make teachers apply their actual teaching beliefs totheir actual teaching behaviors.
