本文是一篇英语教学法论文,本论文以喀什市具有代表性的两所高中英语教师为研究主体,运用调查问卷对两所高中英语教师在课堂教学中呈现出的专业发展现状进行调查研究,运用课堂观察量表对两所高中36节高二英语课堂教学中教师的专业发展水平情况进行观察并记录,通过SPSS软件进行数据处理,并对其中9名英语教师进行访谈。

Chapter One Introduction

1.1 Research Background

The key factors that determine the efficiency of the education are not only teaching method, teaching skills, teaching equipment, but also teachers. The significance of teachers is that they convey their professional knowledge, attitude and ability to students through teaching methods in a special classroom, namely, on the platform of their feet through language and non-language. Classroom is not only the main battlefield of teacher education, but also an important platform to test the level of teachers’ professional development. 

In order to realize the Second Centenary Goal, the key is to have a large number of professional high school English development teachers. General Secretary Xi Jinping has said that 'learning is the path to the inheritance of civilization, the ladder to the growth of life, the foundation for the consolidation of political parties, and the prosperity of the country' (Xi Jinping, 2015). Only those who have the ability to learn can have the ultimate competitiveness. Social development is changing with each passing day and the trend of the time is rolling forward. In order to cultivate Kashi high school students’ contribution to the Party, to the country and the people, it is necessary to have a team of high school English teachers who are loyal, moral, with solid basic skills in English listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, with exquisite pedagogical methods, excellent comprehensive ability and have correct teaching attitude. 

1.2 Research Purpose

This research attempts to explore the present situation of professional development of high school English teacher in Kashi through professional development questionnaire, classroom teaching observation scale and interview. After knowing the professional development status of English teachers in Kashi high schools, this research aims at finding effective methods to improve the overall English teaching quality of Kashi high schools and to provide some references for the professional development of Kashi high school English teachers.

Chapter Two Literature Review

2.1 Teacher Professional Development

The definition of teacher professional development is essential in the whole professional career of teachers. Through lifelong professional training and learning education professional knowledge and skills, teachers improve their own teaching quality gradually, enhance professional ability, and become a good professional development teacher in professional growth process. (Zhang Qingzong, 2011). The research on teacher professional development is reviewed as follows, according to the time sequence, from abroad to home, respectively.

2.1.1 Research on Teacher Professional Development Abroad

(1)Exploration Stage:
