自我效能感与专科生英语学习关系的实证探讨——以安庆医药高等专科学校为例

摘要:本文是一篇英语教学法论文,本研究对安庆医药高等专科学校的三个专业的654名学生进行了问卷调查,从中抽取了其中8名学生进行了访谈,以期了解个体在自我效能感上的差异性。在此基础上,对一个班级进行了为期十周的教学干预,并在干预前后均和另一个同年级同专业的对照班级进行问卷和英语测试的对比。

本文是一篇英语教学法论文,本研究以问卷调查、访谈和实验干预相结合,探究性别、专业、年级在自我效能感上的差异,以及英语成绩和自我效能感的关系,尝试探寻有效的提高自我效能感的方法。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Need for the Study

In China,the teaching goal of the subjects related to the English language set inthe latest“English Curriculum Standard of Higher Vocational Education”(2019)is tocultivate students’comprehensive application ability,so that students can becomepractical and technical talents who can use practical English and solve practicalproblems.However,the current situation is far from the standard.One of theproblems in learning English is the absence of language environment,so the studentsdo not have many opportunities to practise the knowledge they have learned.Instead, they tend to fall into the process of rote memorization of language in order to pass thestandard tests.Although students are allowed to participate in the classroom,in theprocess of the author’s attempt to explore the construction of an efficient classroom,that is,a shift from lecturing to the student-centered or student participation teaching,a phenomenon has been found:when the teacher no longer delivers a monologue andencourages students to participate in classroom interaction,some students show asense of maladjustment in class.They do not preview well and are not involved in thediscussion with other students.Some of them do not think they have the ability tocomplete the discussion task at all.In this case,the students are prone to passivelearning or a lack of confidence in English learning,which aggravates the viciouscircle of frustration and poor learning effect.

1.2 Significance of the Study

Although the proportion of English course in non-English Majors’study invocational college is relatively declining,it is still an important subject in the publicbasic courses.Therefore,English is a subject that vocational college students muststrive to learn well.Secondly,the college is the key stage of the development andimprovement of English comprehensive ability.Improving English learningperformance affects the foster of individual English ability in the future.In theory,therelationship between English academic self-efficacy and English achievement canprovide further evidence for the theory of self-efficacy,so as to verify the influence ofself-efficacy on individual behavior efficiency and academic performance.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the influence of vocational collegestudents’English learning achievements and self-efficacy.To be specific,this topiccan deeply understand the specific factors of vocational college students’Englishlearning difficulties,so as to provide ideas for students to improve their Englishachievement.If this project proves that self-efficacy can affect academic performance,it can bring some inspiration to students who face difficulties in English learning:among the factors affecting English learning performance,practical ability may not bethe key,but the key is self-judgment and belief in English learning ability,which canbe changed through specific training.From the perspective of teachers,this projectcan help teachers understand the situation of students’English learning self-efficacy,so as to carry out targeted intervention training for students with low English learningself-efficacy.
