bsp; Overview of Multimodal Theory at Home
In the domestic, Majority of the researches focus on the introduction of foreign scholars’ theories and the analysis of static images and printed multimodal materials which covers our daily life. Vocabulary attracts domestic education unprecedented attention began with the 1980s. Researchers pay more attention to how to apply cognitive linguistics theory to the study of foreign language teaching theory and practice, the widely and depth discussed vocabulary teaching among them. Li Zhanzi (2003) in the domestic first introduces multimodal discourse theory and points out the social semiotics analysis method of multimodal teaching approach is important for English teaching; Liu Qiaoling (2001) not only analyzes the role of context in English vocabulary teaching, but also puts forward suggestions about English vocabulary teaching on the basis of combining with the development trend of vocabulary teaching and test study. Meanwhile, Li Shanshan (2005) discusses the relationship between the vocabulary acquisition
strategy and the misused number of lexical collocation, then she finds out that teachers could improve learners’ vocabulary collocation level when they pay more attention to the effective teaching strategies in the class. In 2006, Ye Qichang studys from the perspective of social semiotics multiling type, hypertext and visual discourse space division, and this paper expounds the social relations between images and observer. Hu Zhuanglin (2007) distinguishes the two kinds of semiotics, which are multimodal semiotics and multimedia semiotics, at the same time he introduces the media and the modal characteristics of dual computer semiotics, and discusses the problems such as the design of the multimodal symbol. From the perspective of multimodal theory, professor Zhu Yongsheng (2007) in his paper introduces the research of multimodal discourse theoretical basis and research methods. And Gu Yueguo (2007) in “the learning anatomy of multimedia, multimodal”, tries to built a model for analyzing the modal and multimedia learning mode, and then structures data model of the two kinds of learning through Agent-based Modeling Language. At the same year, professor Gu Yueguo explores the basic research method of the Chinese impromptu speech multimodal corpus under his own practice.
