Conclusion
This chapter is a conclusion of this thesis. The author divided this chapter into three parts, major findings of the study, implications of the study, further study and the limitations of the study. This thesis studies the students’ vocabulary learning by using multimodal approach in English teachers’ teaching. After the experiment, we find that there is indeed significant difference between control group and experiment group on the performance of English vocabulary learning. Before using different teaching methods, we ensure two classes have similar English levels. Its obvious that the new teaching method is validness. The findings are as follows:
Firstly, compared with the traditional teaching method, the teaching method based on the multimodal theory can evoke students’ vocabulary learning motivation. All of them have a high positive attitude toward this multimodal method and they may have an update ways of thinking how to improve and expand their vocabulary quickly. In our pre-test, the average score of experiment is 76.44, which is lower than the post-test score. The post-test average score of experiment class is 83. On the other hand, the average score of post-test of control class is 79. It is obvious that the performance of experimental class is better than the control class.
Secondly, The multimodal teaching method integrated variety kinds of mode in English vocabulary teaching. Through the application of this new method, teachers can attract students’ auditory and vision into class. In this way, it is easy for students to memory these words in class when teachers are teaching. Traditional vocabulary teaching just emphasize on training students’ ability of reciting these words. But, students can not complete a wonderful sentence when they meet a foreigner friend in any situation. On the contrary, multimodal teaching method combines the listening, speaking, reading, writing, which can motivate students’ self-study and arouse their enthusiasm to learn English better and better. As we can see, students can take part in this active class happily. During their process of participation in class learning, students receive knowledge and improve their own skills under a harmonious atmosphere.
