therimproving. Kim's questionnaire is compiled is based on the learners' situation of their countrywhich might influence the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. The questionnaire isrecommended to be revised more scientifically and reliably. Besides that, the research on theeffects of listening strategy on listening anxiety need more qualitative and quantitativemethods to get a more comprehensive view of this research and classroom observation, diaryand think- aloud should employed in the further study.The research of language strategy develops deeply and fully, but there are still somecontroversies on some basic questions such as the definitions and classifications of strategy.The boundary of metacognitive strategy and cognitive strategy in some concepts is still vague,thus this needs further verification. Future related research can make up for this gap thatwould be helpful on the question which specific strategy would affect the language activity.
For the research, according to the findings and limitations in this study, the followingpoints are recommended to be further studied on.(1) The same study can be conducted on a larger scale, i.e. on the post- graduate studentsor middle school. The undertaking of such similar research could also be done in a case studyto see learners' anxiety changes under the influence of adjusting their learning strategy.Moreover, this kind of study can be launched in different areas and cultures, the findings ofwhich would enrich individual difference and learning strategy theories in SLA.(2) More research is needed to explore the various sources of listening anxiety by meansof qualitative methodologies like think aloud protocols, diaries, interviews etc. Theunderlying causes of listening anxiety will help us come up with more effective methods tocreate a non-threatening environment and lower students' debilitating anxiety.(3) Further research can also look into the potential interactions between listeninganxiety and other individual characteristics, such as self-confidence, beliefs about listeningcomprehension learning and commitment to extracurricular listening training.
