Conclusion


This chapter provides a summary of the whole thesis, the practical implication of leveledteaching and the limitation of the research. The last point is about the suggestions for thefuture research.A three-year experiment proves that leveled teaching is a good teaching method inimproving the English level of high school students in some aspects. Leveled teachingenhances greatly the efficiency of class teaching, stimulates the learning enthusiasm andinitiative of the students and promotes the quality education.But the present study is not perfect due to following reasons. Firstly, as the experiment isonly done in part of students, the data collected can not guarantee the success of implementof leveled teaching in any other high schools Secondly, students’ psychological changes inage is left unmentioned.As leveled teaching has stood in the trend of education reform, a research on itsapplication in high school English classes can be helpful. It is playing a more and moreimportant role in high school education and becomes a direction for continuous study in thefuture. However, the present study leaves some space to optimize the process of leveledteaching. Therefore, here are some suggestions for the further research.
Firstly, in high schools, the more subjects are covered, the more reliable the resultswould be. Larger samples would be helpful in finding persuasive evidences for or against theimplementation of leveled teaching
Secondly, for the further research, in the long run, great efforts should be made toestimate effectiveness of leveled teaching and more attention should be given on how tomeasure learners' English ability in an objective way.
