摘要:这项研究是企图审查的影响,电影类中等职业学校学习者的动机与成功提供了一些建议,如何使用英语类的电影的意图。

teaching is very popular in developed countries (Xiao, 1979:15). InChina,in the early 1980s, some colleges and universities offered Audio-Visual-Oral lessons inthe foreign language department introducing films into the classroom (Pan,1997:26). Inrecent years, with the reform of teaching and the development and application of newtechnology and equipment, the English Audio-Visual-Oral training in Colleges with themovies from Britain and America as the main contcnt, are becoming more and more popular. Video Course will become an essential lesson in foreign language teaching. Although thiskind of class in our country starts late, the rapid development has shown its status and rolewhich can not be underestimated (Bian, 1995:79).


Chapter 2 Literature Review


This chapter supplies a review of the history of movie teaching for EFL learning inChina and foreign countries, discusses the features of movie teaching and the principles toselect movies for movie class. It also reviews the theories of the motivation for foreignlanguage learning. In addition,it is concerned with the definition, the importance and types ofmotivation and the relationship between the motivation and the foreign language learningachievement.


2,1 Development of Movie Teaching
This part will have an overview of the development of the movie teaching in China andthe foreign countries.


2.1.1 Studies in China
In the early 1930s, Lu Xun foretold that: "Using moving films to teach students must bebetter than the other teaching material. 1 am afraid that it would turn into reality in the future."(Wang & Lei, 2003:2) However, at that time, when Lu Xun did not finished his words,theauUiences nau aiready burst into iaughing. They ncvci iuia^Iitcu uiat iuc ujiii uit^uiuut v-^uulumake remarkable progress in the next 70 years in China. And at the end of the 20th century,movie teaching has been carried out on a large scale in China. Things turned out to be true asLu Xun had predicted.
