Summary
The purpose of this article is to analyze the strategy of Microsoft Company from several aspects in order to know its competitive advantage, weakness, opportunities, and threats. This report also proposes some suggestions for the future development of Microsoft according to the strategic analysis in detailed.

Firstly, the report analyzes the external environment from two aspects: general environment and industry environment. It analyzes general environment with PESTEL model which can evaluate the external environment of Microsoft Company. Following this, it will analyze industry environment with Five Force model and Industry Life Cycle model. Five Force model is helpful for analyzing and evaluating the industry environment from five aspects: barriers to enter, buyer power, threat of substitutes, supplier power, and rivalry. This report also tells the stage of Microsoft Company according to Industry Life Cycle model. Finally, it also concludes the opportunities and threats according to analysis results.

Secondly, it analyzes the internal analysis from four aspects: Resources basis view, Structure, Culture, Portfolio analysis. This part explains the internal analysis of Microsoft Company according to resources distribution, structure setting, cultural feature, and portfolio analysis. That will help to understand the internal conditions of Microsoft Company. It outlines the opportunities and threats of Microsoft Company according to analysis results.

Thirdly, this report analyzes the income statement of Microsoft Company from 2006 to 2008. The comparison among financial data is helpful for understanding the management effectiveness, cost advantage, and performance. Finally, it concludes the strength and weakness of Microsoft.

Fourthly, it concludes the previous opportunities, threats, strength, and weakness. Then it outlines the results in table 3. According to the analysis, it proposes 8 main strategies of Microsoft Company. Following this, it will outline their recommendations.

Fifthly, this report adopts three strategies and analyzes them according to system, structure, and policies. The analysis will explain the strategies being implemented successfully.
