An Introduction to Project management plans
Following approval of the definition of your filtered project then feasibility analysis, plus approval to proceed by the sponsor. The next stage is to decide what you and your team actually need to do, and the methods that will be used to deliver the project. Also, as a manager, you have to provide some form of framework both to plan and to communicate what needs doing. Plans differ in content and content depending upon the type of project, type of organisation and sponsor. Be careful not to confuse the project management plan with the planning process, almost the same word, but a different meaning.
A project initiation document is a logical document whose purpose is to bring together the key information needed to start the project on a sound basis derived from the feasibility appraisals; and to convey that information to all concerned with the project. In sho
