This  thesis  emphasizes  on  the  new  multi-dimensional  definition  model  of  “da” verbs in LDCFL. According to the rationale of the research, this thesis aims to reach the following objectives: (1) To locate and analyze the definitions of “da” verbs in UDCW, HSKCPTD and CPLDCC.  (2) To find the common problems of the definitions of “da” verbs in LDCFL.  (3) To construct a new model or put forward a complete definition theory for better definition of “da” verbs in LDCFL. (4) To apply the new model into the definition of “da” verbs in LDCFL.

Chapter Two   Literature Review  

2.1 Introduction  
Definition  is  a  central  issue  in  lexicographic  research.  However,  the  definition  in LDCFL  remains  a  Gordian  knot  for  a  long  time.  The  investigation  of  the  definition  in LDCFL  has  drawn  the  interest  of  linguists,  lexicographers  and  scholars  from  other fields  in  recent  years.  Furthermore,  the  verb  “da”  is  a  very  important  word  in  Chinese deserving our due attention. To study the definition of LDCFL, especially the definition of  “da”  verbs  in  LDCFL,  we  need  to  know  the  studies  of  definition  done  by  our predecessors first. In the following part, we are going to review what have been done in the research of the definition of LDCFL and the verb “da”.

2.2 Previous Studies on the Definition of LDCFL  
It has been the focus for scholars to research the definition of LDCFL. Dictionary definition  is  the  key  of  the  dictionary  compiling.  On  the  study  of  the  definition  in LDCFL,  it  includes  definition  on  different  parts  of  speech  and  definition  mode  and strategy.  Chinese  scholars  have  put  forward  various  theories  on  this  issue.  Bi  Yanhua (2009)  selects  298  verbs  from  SGWCP  as  sample  by  random  sampling  to  study  the verbs definition, he discusses the innovation and deficiency on definition in the current LDCFL.  Dong  Chunli  (2007)  describes  and  analyzes  the  definition  of  abstract  nouns from  three  aspects,  interpretation  language,  interpretation  methods  and  interpretation examples.  All  these  studies  are  based  on  parts  of  speech.  On  definition  mode  and strategy,  Zhang  Yihua  (2006)  focuses  on  discussing  the  problems  in  the  LDCFL  from some aspects, such as contents and structures of definitional items, semantic frame and conceptual  structure,  the  definition  by  synonyms  and &nbs本论文由英语论文网提供整理，提供论文代写，英语论文代写，代写论文，代写英语论文，代写留学生论文，代写英文论文，留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
