Introduction引言

研究幽默的目的,被认为是一个有趣的语言,扮演着不可或缺的角色不人道通信。的影响,实现顺利在社会中人与人之间的关系,并有利于人的积极情绪,打击所有的不幸和灾难The Purpose of the StudyHumor, perceived as an amusing and fonny language, plays an indispensable role inhuman communication. The effects it achieves smooth the interpersonal relationship insociety, and contribute to people's positive mood in fighting against all the misfortunesand disasters.Humor exists in almost every aspect of every individual's life. However, few cancomprehend the mystery in humor. What is humor? How does it work? What is the mostfascinating nature that makes people laugh? Humor is complicated, more than funny, covering a wide range of principles from linguistics, literature, culture to sociology andpsychology. Humor demonstrates the wits of writers and speakers but the highlyculture-embedded humor really brings a big headache for translators.Relevance theory proposed by Sperber and Wilson, which deals with communicationand human cognition, has a strong capacity to delineate translation phenomena, https://www.51lunwen.org/translation/ for thecourse of translation is in fact a kind of human communication and discoursecomprehension. Meanwhile, humor is culturally specific and its appreciation depends onthe readers' cognitive interpretation. Based on Sperber and Wilson's ostensive-inferentialmodel,it is relevance that plays an indispensable role in the reproduction of linguistichumor, as relevance easily connects expectedness with unexpectedness, and the audiencestill catch the humor in the new unity of the two opposites. Therefore, relevance theorymay not only provide an insightful explanation for the process of comprehending humor, but also better illuminate humor translation. The Research BackgroundResearch on humor can be traced back to the classic antiquity. It was initiatedmainly from philosophical and psychological perspective, which had attracted theattention of famous theorists like Plato, Aristotle, Cicero from ancient times and Freud inthe 20th century. Following their influential contributions to humor, the ultimatemotivation of humor has been over two hundred theories from different disciplines, suchas psychology, anthropology, aesthetics and linguistics. It is universally acknowledgedthat the three theories best summaries former scholars' viewpoints and explain themystery of humor: the superiority theory, relief theory and incongruity theory. The theory of superiority, originating from classic Greek and Roman rhetoricaltheory, assumes that people laugh at the misfortunes of others to whom they feel superior.Plato maintained that the root of comic enjoyment lies in malice or envy toward peopleconsidered relatively powerless. Aristotle, as well, talked of humor as being an imitationof men worse than the average (Raskin 1985: 36). Hobbes further develops this group oftheory: “The passion of laughter is nothing else but sudden glory arising from somesudden conception of some eminency in ourselves, by comparison with the infirmity ofothers, or with our own formerly." (Hobbes, 1999: 46)The relief theory takes on a considerably clear physiological nature, viewing humoras an outlet of tension and nervous energy. Moreover, humor releases people fromconventions, inhabitations or feelings in taboo. The scholar most closely associated withthe relief theory is Sigmund Freud, whose psychoanalytical work on humor bring论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
