should we prepare for court interpreter in China after analyzingtheir role and status quo?We learn the status quo of court interpreter in China from a holistic point of viewby answering the first question and discuss the role they played in court in theperspective of skopostheory by answering the second question; after that we preparestrategies and give some suggestions to solve the problems by answering the thirdquestion.

1.4 Research methodology and Data Collection研究方法和数据收集
Research methodology is actually the elaborate instruction of certain procedures ina research, such as the goals to achieve, the operation procedures, and so on. To achievethe research goals, certain research methods are adopted. Actually, I commence a furtherstudy of court interpreter based on the previous researches, after analyzing the reality ofChina; and I hope the research be holistic and analytic. To achieve such goals, I adoptedthe following research methods:Research method of description: set standards for using translation skopostheory incourt interpretation in China after illustrating the relevant theories and contents oftranslation skopostheory, and try to find the connection between court interpretation andtranslation skopostheory.Research method of exemplification analyzing: analyze the role of court interpreterand try to find out by which principles and translation strategies court interpreter abideunder the frame of translation skopostheory.Research method of synthetic study: analyze the current situation of courtinterpretation in China by observing and studying the role of court interpreter under theframe of translation skopostheory, to find the differences of court interpretation betweenChina and the west countries. At the end, several viewpoints are summed up via usingrelevant research results from other countries as reference and some possible solutionsare provided to those problems caused by the unsounded law system of courtinterpretation in China.All of the court language corpus and data in this thesis are collected by the authorfrom the master theses in recent years.

1.5 Organization of the Thesis论文结构
he thesis has six chapters.In Chapter One, a brief introduction of the background, the rationality andsignificance of the research are given; then, three questions are listed. The answers tothese questions are the goals of the research. The research methodology, research dateand the framework of this thesis are also presented by the end of Chapter One.In Chapter Two, we give a review to the previous literature including study of courtinterpretation in west countries and study of court interpretation in China, and thensummarize the advantages and disadvantages of those studies.In Chapter Three, the supportive theories of the research are introduced in detail,including the formation and development of translation skopostheory, three principles oftranslation skopostheory and the relationship between translation skopostheory andcourt interpretation.In Chapter Four, we discuss the role of court interpreter played in court hearing inChina with translation skopostheory.In Chapter Five, we discuss the status quo of court interpreter in China and try tofind solutions to the problems faced by interpreter during court interpretation.In Chapter Six, conclusions are drawn from the previous chapters and the threequestions are answered.
