Chapter II Review of research literature


2.1 Definition of Interaction
Interaction is one of the most important parts for teachers of language; it is essentialpurpose of communication in language teaching. All the ways of interaction such asasking, answering, talking, cooperating, discussing and so one are not only the abilitieswe learn in classrooms, but also are beneficial for us when we leave school and start towork. According to this aspect it is more important than some knowledge in books.Allwright (1984:1984) interaction is the foundation of classroom teaching, because it allhappened in the classroom are all via interaction such as talking, inquiring andcooperating. Talent Marlaqi educators think You song, Chen (1982), the education ismainly composed of complex interactions. And Wilga m. Rivers (1987) argues studentscan achieve the ability of controlling a kind of language only if they concentrate to themessages they received and the messages are authentic.Ellis (1985) defines the interaction as a discourse together build the learner and hisinterlocutors and input is the consequence of interaction. Jack Richards, John Pratt,Heidi Weber claimed that classroom interaction is method linguistic and non-linguisticcommunication and the kinds of social relationships that exist with classroom teaching.(Richards, Platt, and Weber, 1989)H. Douglas Brown (2001:159) states that "Everyone’s activities and behaviorsaffect others and interaction is relevant to it.”Zoltan Dornyei and Angi Malderez(Arnold, 2000) express their opinion, “This statement amplified the comprehension ofinteraction. It extended the range of interaction out of classrooms and teaching. Itindicates interaction exists in the situation in which people mutually affect others. Theyargue the conception that interaction is the complete feature of talking or discussing,because interaction is necessary for any talking or discussing, it is why interaction existsin the situation in which people affect others mutually.

2.2 The principles of interactive language teaching
Brown (2001) brings forwards 12 interactive rules in his book Teaching by Principles: interaction, as the way to study Language, it forms the foundation ofinteractive foreign language teaching. These interactive principles mainly can bedivided into three categories: cognitive, emotional, language category. Has the following five principles of cognitive principles, such as principle ofautomaticity, meaningful learning, on the principle of reward, intrinsic motivation andstrategy investment. These five principles are placed in this category, because they aremainly and the psychological and mental function. Brown (2001) states that the automaticity principle is “high-efficiency non-nativelanguage learning relates to a proper movement of a few mastered language forms intothe automatic process of a relevant limitless plenty of language forms.
