Chapter IV Experimental Research on Interactive Approachin Oral English Teaching


4.1 The purpose of the experiment
Experiment's goal is to find out whether the implementation of interactive methodin oral English teaching will be much better for students than the traditional teachingmethods. In order to improve the integrity and efficiency of the experiment, two classes, inthe author's teaching practice, will be adopted in the experiments. Then selected out anexperimental class at random, it will use interactive teaching method in oral English.The other will be controlled class, employing traditional teaching model.Each class is made up of 62 subjects. All students in the two types of high schoolentrance examination. At the same time, their English is no big difference. They haveseven English lessons every week taught by the same teacher. Consider each class as a unit, all students participated in the experiment. Theauthor checks all the students' English average mark before and after the experiment.Check mainly concentrated with oral test. Before the end of the study, the author willdistribute the questionnaire to check all the subjects' emotion to the interactive teachingmethod in oral English.

Conclusion


Based on the extensively treatment of those principles, we can draw the followingconclusions:
1) Interactive approach is really an effective method to improve learner’s interestin the Learning of English. Interactive approach turns out to be a suitable method in oralEnglish teaching class. The interactive approach enables the teachers to have infinitescopes of choices, as well as ideas for the encouragement and promotion of students'communicative competence. This method provides the classroom a practicalcircumstance, so that the students can speak the target language freely, at the same time,they will not receive so much disturbance from the teachers, as a result, it enables themto be more active in the English learning process; it makes students have great interestin English learning.
2) Interactive approach is much better compared with the conventional method toenhance the learners’ communicative competence. The final target of English teachingis to cultivate students' abilities to communicative ability. In interactive classroom, thestudents often have much more chances to practice their speaking and listening.
