摘要:本文是一篇英语教学法论文,根据英语写作教学的现状,本研究旨在探索如何将支架理论应用于高中英语写作教学。本研究以支架理论为基础,通过一个教学实验,探讨如何在写作的各个阶段为学生搭建支架。

本文是一篇英语教学法论文,笔者认为在写作前阶段,构建语言支架非常重要,如词汇支架、句型支架和语篇结构支架。因为这些框架能让学生积累有用的写作材料,有助于充分利用词汇、句型和语篇结构。在介绍写作主题时,情境支架提供了良好的教学情境,激发了学生的学习热情。

CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION

1.1 Research Background

As an international language, it goes without saying that English plays a crucialpart in communication among countries. In the era of information, as China hasincreasingly close exchanges with other countries, requirements for English learningare constantly increasing. As an important output skill, writing cannot be ignored inits position in English learning and teaching. The National English CurriculumStandards for General High School (2017 Edition) puts forward clear requirementsfor the English writing ability of high school students, namely, students are able toconvey information and express meaning with the help of headings, icons, etc. inwritten expressions; also, students are able to choose appropriate text types accordingto the purpose of expression and choose vocabulary and text structure according to theneeds of expression.

In addition, writing is a manifestation of students’ comprehensive languageliteracy. A written expression will involve many aspects such as rhetoric, grammaticalsentence patterns, wording, spelling, punctuation, etc. The enhancement of writtenexpression ability in English is not only conducive to improving the accuracy ofstudents’ language use, expanding vocabulary and improving their logical thinkingand problem-solving skills, but also promoting their English learning in reading,speaking, translation, and listening. The scores of English composition can open acertain gap for students’ total scores of English tests. This means that if students wantto achieve good results in English, great importance must be attached to writing.However, there is no denying that many high school students’ writing competencecannot meet the requirements of the English curriculum standards. Quite a few typicalmistakes exist in students’ essays, such as the confusion of grammatical tenses and theChinglish expressions and so on.

1.2 Purpose and Significance of the Research

Under the current situation of high school English writing teaching, this researchaims to explore how to apply scaffolding theory to English writing teaching.Scaffolding teaching is based on a learner-centered teaching method with the goal ofcultivating students’ problem-solving ability and autonomous learning ability. Duringthe teaching process, teachers will build various scaffolds for students according totheir specific learning needs, and provide guidance and assistance when appropriate.Then, the teacher slowly removes the scaffolds of learning and makes studentsexplore and complete the learning content independently so as to improve theirlearning ability.

By exploring the application of scaffolding theory to English writing teaching inhigh school and combining the relevant findings in the research, it provides someenlightenment and suggestions for the research of scaffolding theory in Englishteaching. Specifically, the significance of this research is as follows.

First of all, this research has theoretical significance. Scaffolding is described asa means to develop students’ knowledge and skills.
