5.1 Results

This section is to present the results of the pre-test and post-test in order toanswer two research questions:(1)What are the effects of the multimodal listeningmethod on junior high school students’English listening competence?(2)What are theeffects of the multimodal listening method on the English listening competence ofjunior high school students at different listening levels?

5.1.1 Results of the pretest in experimental class and control class

In this experiment,the author took the results of the listening test of the 2022final examination in the second semester of senior two at the beginning of the courseas the pre-test data,which was designed and published by the district educationbureau of Guangzhou so that it can be guaranteed the reliability and validity of thetest.An independent sample test is put into force aiming to find out whether there wasa significant difference between the listening competence of the students in the twoclasses before the experiment.The result is as follows:

Chapter Six Conclusion

6.1 Major Findings of the Study

The study is based on the Visual Grammar and the Integrated Framework of theMultimodal Discourse Analysis,with reference to previous teaching designs andresearch results,and the actual teaching situation of the third-year junior high schoolstudents to design the multimodal listening lesson.The thesis uses a combination ofqualitative and quantitative research methods to conduct the experiment and thencollect the experimental data and interview results.Based on the research questions,the findings are as follows:

First,as shown by the quantitative analysis results,multimodal listening teachingmethod can effectively improve students’listening competence.The multimodalclassroom is more interesting and interactive than the traditional classroom,so it ismore acceptable to students and classroom participation is significantly increased.Atthe same time,this teaching method shows students a new way of learning English,broadens their horizons,and encourages them to use this multimodal synergy in theirdaily lives to learn English.Besides,the multimodal teaching method has differentimprovement effects on junior high school students.Among them,the mid-level andlow-level students achieve significant improvement but the multimodal listeningmet论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
