Chapter Four Experimental Study on DeepLearning-oriented English Unit Integrity Instruction inSenior High School

4.1 Research Subjects and Instruments

The subjects of this study are students of Class 15 and Class 16 in Grade 2 in DSenior High School in Meizhou.Among them,Class 16,Grade 2 is the ExperimentalClass(EC)and Class 15,Grade 2 is the Control Class(CC).There are 55 students ineach class,a total of 110 students.They are all taught by the author with the sameteaching materials and exercise books and the same teaching time.The author hasthree years of teaching experience before the postgraduate study,and is quite familiarwith Deep Learning-oriented EUII in senior high school in this study,which to someextent reduces the phenomenon of significant deviation in the experimental resultsdue to teachers'own reasons.Through the comparative analysis of the pre-test resultsof the two classes,no significant differences are found,so the two classes can becompared.The author uses the Deep Learning-oriented EUII design of senior highschool in this thesis for teaching in Class 16 in Grade Two,while Class 15 in GradeTwo uses the teaching design of the general EUII.

In terms of research instruments,this survey selects the interview and test.Among them,the interview aims to explore the students’attitudes in the EC towardsthe Deep Learning-oriented EUII in senior high school,and the test aims to explorethe changes in the DL level of the students in the two classes before and after theexperiment.

Chapter Five Conclusion

5.1 Major Findings of the Study

Based on the concept of DL and the EUII,this paper uses the literature researchmethod to put forward the principles and steps of Deep Learning-oriented EUII insenior high school through theoretical analysis,and carries out the experiment to testthe impact of teaching on senior high school students'DL level,and finds that thisteaching can improve students'DL level,and surveys senior high school students'attitudes towards this teaching through interviews,it is found that students have apositive attitude towards this teaching.Specific research conclusions are as follows.

1.Based on the study of the basic operating steps of the Deep Learning-orientedEUII,and combining the characteristics of the English discipline,the principles andsteps of the Deep Learning-oriented EUII in senior high school are proposed,including the interpretation of textbooks,the analysis of students’situation,theintegration of unit teaching content,the setting of unit teaching objectives,the designof specific lessons and the evaluation of unit effect.

2.Through the comparative analysis of the scores of the EC and CC before andafter the teaching experiment,it can be seen that the the students’English scores ofDL section in the EC have improved significantly.It can be shown that the DeepLearning-oriented EUII in senior high school is an effective,practical and innovativeteaching.This kind of teaching can improve students'DL level,especially in theaspect of understanding and connection,transfer and application,high-order thinkingand problem solving.
