2.1.1 Motivation
Learning motivation is the most important psychological factor in learning English. It directly stimulates students to learn English. According to Yin Xiaoying, " If most students had to know a given foreign language in order to accomplish some goal for themselves, then most would learn it" [5] (p.13). Most researchers and educators would agree that motivation is very important, if not the most important factors in language learning. Without it, even "gifted" individuals cannot accomplish long-term goals, whatever the curriculum and whoever the teacher is. Thus the concept of language learning motivation has become central to a number of theories of L2 (the second language) acquisition, and motivation has been widely accepted by teachers and researchers as one of the key factors influencing the rate and success of L2 learning, often compensating for deficiencies in language aptitude and learning.
