Introduction
With the popularization of English in the world economy and trade, English becomes more and more important. After China’s entry into WTO, Chinese needs to communicate with the outside world, so they firstly have to master the language skill. In this paper, the author aims to analyze the roles of English in Chinese context, and then discusses how awareness of these roles influences English teaching.
