摘要:英语简单的过去,在中国紧张的情况下有抑制效果,关联交易对目的。具体而言,中国英语学习者往往依靠务实的设备和词汇表示过去简单的设备,并考虑语法设备的冗余,这导致在他们的口头变化不敏感。

quisition of English simplepast by Chinese EFL learners.Firstly, the present research provides great theoretical significance in this field. Forone thing,through investigating LI transfer in the acquisition of English simple past byChinese L2ers, this research not only confirms the important role of LI transfer insimple past acquisition by Chinese EFL learners,but also adds more empirical data tothe previous researches. For another, the present research also sheds more light on ourunderstanding of the essence of interlanguage. The significant role of LI transfer insimple past acquisition by Chinese EFL learners indicates that when Chinese learnerslearn English simple past, the properties of Chinese temporality will permeate tointerlanguage. On the other hand, due to fossilization,advanced learners cannotovercome negative transfer completely, which result in their incompetency of acquiringEnglish simple past even though they can produce more complex sentences and makefewer errors than preliminary learners.


Chapter 2 Literature Review


This chapter is composed of three sections. Section 2‘1 is devoted to introduce thedefinitions of tense/aspect as well as the differences between English and Chinesetense/aspect system. Section 2.2 reviews the previous studies on LI transfer intense/aspect acquisition. Section 2.3 focuses on the limitations of these previous studies.


2.1 Tense and aspect


2.1.1 Definitions of tense and aspect
Tense and aspect are both the grammaticalized categories in expressing temporality,but obviously, they are different from each other. According to Comrie (1985), tense isused to locate a situation in time axis to indicate when the situation takes place. In otherwords, it is used to locate the time of an event or a situation on a time line in accordancewith a Reference time point. Usually, there are three tenses in most languages: past,present and future. Comrie (1985) also claimed that present tense refers to the situationhappens at present; past tense means the situation occurs before the present time; andthe future tense is used when the situation takes places subsequent to the present time.Different from tense, Comire (1976) in his book Aspect: An Introduction to theStudy of Verbal Aspect and Related Problems claimed that aspect does not locate asituation in time,but presents the internal temporal constituency of a situation or anevent from a special perspective.
