本文是一篇英语毕业论文,笔者认为湘潭地区高一学生文化意识能力的研究是一个不断丰富和发展的过程。本研究仅对学生的文化意识能力进行了较为简单的研究,了解了总体情况,分析了问题背后的原因,并提出了相应的对策和解决方案。
Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Background of the Research
Cheng Xiaotang(2016) holds that developing the core competencies of students' English subject is one of the major measures to deepen the reform of basic education English curriculum. The key competencies of English subject divide into four aspects: language ability, cultural awareness, thinking quality and learning ability. English curriculum should aim to further improve the overall quality of students in senior high school. Enable students to have ideals, beliefs and a sense of social responsibility, have scientific and cultural competence and lifelong learning ability, have independent development ability and communication and cooperation ability. Han Baocheng(2018) holds that English education is a kind of cultural education at first, because language and culture are inseparable, and language itself is also a kind of culture. For students, a very important aspect of learning culture through foreign languages is to cultivate their own foreign language and cultural awareness competence. Different disciplines need to cultivate different core competencies of disciplines. As the key competencies value orientation of the English subject, cultural awareness plays an irreplaceable role in the development of English subject key competencies.
1.2 Purpose of the Research
The main purpose of this research is to develop a measurement model for assessing cultural awareness competence about senior high school students. In view of the various domestic and foreign researches on how to cultivate students' cultural awareness competence in English teaching, the author believes that investigates the current situation of senior high school students’ cultural awareness competence and studying the factors that affect students’ cultural awareness competence will promote the development of English subjects, improve students’ cultural awareness, and cultivate the compound talents are of great significance in the new era.
The current aims to find out whether the New Curriculum Standard English textbook, which is widely used in the senior high school in the Xiangtan county, it can help students develop their cultural awareness competence. Of course, the current key aims to find out the current states of students’ cultural awareness competence. In addition, the research is intended to find out what factors contribute to the development of students’ cultural awareness competence.
