摘要:As a channel to organize the class, to manage the class, teacher directive plays a crucialrole in the whole process of teaching and learning. It is generally believed that the quality ofthe teacher directives not only affects the teachers' teaching effect, but also is closely relatedto the students' performance in the EFL classrooms

y the Speech Acttheory. Based on such background, this thesis will focus on the teacher directive which is animportant element of teacher talk in senior high school based on the Context theory. What theresearcher intends to surprise readers will be the application of an analytical tool calledAntConc 3.2.4 in this research. With the aid of this analytical tool, the general survey of theactual use of teacher directives in distinguished English teachers' class will be done and thefollowing aspects of teacher directives will be dealt with.(1) The factors which contributed to the actual use of teacher directives in the EFLclassrooms will be found out.(2) The lexical and syntactical features of different teacher directives using differentstrategies will be explored.(3) How the teachers give effective directives in the real interactions.

 

1.4 Outline of the Thesis
This thesis is consisted of six chapters. In the first chapter, a brief introduction will begiven. In this part, the background of the research, the reasons why this research is worthconducing and the research questions will be presented in this chapter. In the second chapter,literature review will be given and some studies made by the researchers at home and abroadwill be examined in order to know more about the achievement that has be achieved in thesame field. In the third chapter, based on the previous studies, related theories will be chosento guild the research, therefore, the theoretical basis will be viewed in detail in this part. In thefourth chapter, how the research is conducted in the whole process and the research methodand the research procedure will be presented. Based on the previous chapters, in the fifthchapter, the results will be presented and analyzed. In the sixth chapter, a natural conclusionof the whole thesis will be drawn. What is more, in this part, the implication, somesuggestions for the teachers and the limitation of the research will be talked.
