摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,笔者通过11周的两轮实验,本研究旨在探索基于量规的SA在中学生课后英语写作任务中的应用。对学生在测试中和测试后的作文成绩进行比较表明,接受条件一(使用量规作为自我评估工具)的学生的整体写作质量优于接受条件二(未使用量规作为自评估工具)。
Different from the claim that rubrics are seen as an assessment tool, studies suggest that rubrics are a useful instructional tool that can be used to clarify teacher expectations and guide students to assess their performance against criteria (Reddy & Andrade, 2010; Sundeen, 2014; Wang, 2014). Therefore, rubrics can be regarded as an important tool in supporting learning and in facilitating evaluation more accurately and objectively (Reynolds-Keefer, 2010, p. 1). In another word, rubric is not only an evaluating tool but a supportive tool for student learning, considering that rubrics can provide both students and teachers with specific feedback rather than how many scores they get merely.
2.2 Relevant Research Abroad
An electronic search of Web of Science was conducted, seeking peer-reviewed journal articles published from 2001 through December 2021. Additional articles were added from the references in these articles, making a total of 29 studies in this review. Criteria for selection were as follows. Firstly, the key words of these studies should include both “rubric and writing”. Additionally, the study had to be involved in some empirical data. In a review of these studies, the most heated topics involve the quality of rubrics in writing, types of rubric use in writing, the effect of rubrics on writing quality and writing rubric development. Types of studies varied widely, including literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative studies of various designs, mixed method studies and case studies.
2.2.1 The Quality of Writing Rubrics
The rubric made its first appearance in America over fifty years ago when Educational Testing Service developed holistic scoring rubrics “so that its traditional multiple-choice tests could be supplemented by a measure of actual student writing to give more credibility to its Advanced Placement and other English tests” (White & Wright, 2015, p. 74). Currently, the use of rubrics as a means of assessment is more popular than ever in America. While previous studies suggest that rubrics help teachers assess students’ performance, the validity and reliability of this tool is not without debate through the successive decades (Rezaei & Lovorn, 2010, p. 18). Rather, the focus of the controversy on writing assessment has continued on whether the use of rubrics increases reliability at the expense of validity.
