By applying both quantitative and qualitative methodology, after the analysis on theresult of questionnaires, CET-4 tests and interview, it is found out that through writinglong compositions, students in two groups have more opportunities to practice theirwriting skills and output what they have input; by writing longer and longer, they buildlearning confidence to a larger extent, improve their writing autonomy, better their writingmotivation, reduce their writing anxiety, and promote their writing skills even the wholeEnglish proficiency.However, LA based on QQ platform provides more opportunities for students tocommunicate in English. First, by reading articles written by their classmates, byinteracting with companions and by the feedback from both students and the teacher,students’ sense of competition is stimulated, either in a conscious way or in anunconscious way. Further, this kind of competition could promote students’ learningmotivation (Li, 2013) and learning confidence. In a word, students in the EG are moreactive in English writing than students in the CG since they are more motivated andconfident in learning.In the aspect of writing anxiety, students in the EG are less anxious than students inthe CG. This result is caused by the learning environment of EG—the unique feature ofCALL, which is more relaxing and comfortable. During their writing process, they coulduse information technology integrated with word processing of computer to accomplishtheir assignments.
