The Babysitter is one of Robert Coover's representative postmodern novels.Through TheBabysitter, the author fully embodies the indeterminate writing principles of postmodernism, such as paradoxical contradiction, juxtaposition, discontinuity and randomness. The novelcombines fiction with reality,TV program with real life, and presents the chaotic Americanpostmodern social reality in front of readers from a new perspective. The combination ofthese techniques makes the novel present great indeterminacy, which is the biggestcharacteristic of The Babysitter and the common characteristic of many American postmodernworks.

The full text includes 108 fragments of different lengths, some of which are as long ashundreds of words, while others are only dozens of words.Paragraphs are separated byasterisks, and there is no serial number. The whole novel only provides a background, that is,the Tuckers employed a young girl to take care of their three children because they weregoing to a friend's house for a dinner. While the Tuckers were chatting with their friends at theparty, the babysitter was putting the three children to take a bath and sleep at home.Thewhole story took place between 7:40 p.m.and 10:00 p.m.for more than two hours. Not onlyMr.Tucker, the 论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
