handsome, noble young men who are at the same age as her son would be. The presence of these bold men evokes such feelings as antipathy, grief, and her nerves are streched. Her emotional experience is at culmination, because she longs to see her son, it is her personal pain. Her pain seems to never fade away, but the next morning at seven o'clockw while preparing breakfast for officers, at very moment she takes out hot biscuits from the oven and is about to raise up, she sees ‘a black face come aroun` under mine, an` de eyes a-lookin` up into mine', at this moment she becomes numb, but she gazed and gazed at him and all of sudden she knew he is my Henry `Boy!` I says, `if you an't my Henry, what is you doin' wid dis welt on yo' wris' an' dat sk-yar on yo' forehead? De Lord God ob heaven be praise`, I got my own ag'in!`

Her last words are Misto C----, I hain't had no trouble. An' no joy!' gives a reader enough space and time to think over the whole matter of slavery with the touch of irony.

CONCLUSIONS

Mark Twain was regarded as the first truly and indigenous American writer who was not afraid to use American Voice, writing his works in vernacular language.

According to this model, the usage of African American English nicely connects the characters (Jim and Aunt Rachel) with a particular region (American South West); their language speaks for their identity, namely race and class positioned in the Southern society in the banks of river Mississippi.

AAE gives more authentic feeling about the characters; therefore a reader gains a better understanding of traditions, customs culture of that region, including slavery. In order to fully appreciate and understand a specific lexicon used in Twain's works it is advisable to investigate and carry out a separate study into lexicon of AAE of that region. Mark Twain the same as his follower W. Faulkner was able to measure and capture ‘a voice that is black'.

The characters Huck Finn, Jim and Aunt Rachel allow a reader exploring such themes as hardship, cruelty, inferior status of African American in the society ofpre Civil War. The author contrasts black race and white race and at this point a reader observes that even such outcast as Huck Finn was able to feel more superior than a runaway slave Jim, because he is just a Negro Miss Watson property.

Aunt Rachel Jim and Huck Finn reveal what kind of ‘the social limitations' which American ‘civilization' of antebellum society imposes on ‘individual freedom' (Hutchinson, 1998:135). Consequently a slave was a person ‘first and foremost a commodity, to be bought and sold and inherited'. He/she is a chattel who belongs to another person just like goods, flock, and without ‘own destiny, no choice of occupation, no rights to property or marriage, no control over the fate of his children'.

The impact of slavery is reflected in Huck Finn's doubts about helping the runaway slave Jim, because he is influenced by doctrine of Southern community, namely, the doctrine of race and slavery.

This leads to the issue that African Americans had and still have this burden of slavery in their hearts. The chapt论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
