摘要:With the advancement of informative technology all over the world, more and morerequirements and needs are demanded to English majors' education, and learners have also raisedtheir thinking height and professional requirements to the study conditions, especially for theirclassroom learning environment.

Chapter 1 Introduction


1.1 Research Background
Language learning cannot occur in vacuum, it takes place in a certain environment.Environment is one of the most important conditions which have been always influencing studyoutcomes, and it is also one of the key variable quantities affecting learning elements. Any formof language learning cannot be produced autonomously, and it is occurred and influenced moreby external environment, especially for classroom learning environment. Meanwhile, learningenvironment changes and develops accompanied by learning process and increasing demands oflearners, so learning and environment are two dispensable and interdependent conditions.In China, most foreign language learners were born to have many restrains in their Englishlearning environment, so does for English major students. As a matter of fact,foreign languagecompetence of Chinese students has been taken on different degrees, which is mainly owing todifferent starting age, learning environment both at school and at home, educational level indifferent areas, parents' attention to children's learning, etc. Among them, influences by schooltake a great part. In China, no matter when a student starts a foreign language, it would be easilysurrounded or influenced by his mother language, because target language learning is justoccurred in class, and it is quickly interrupted afterclass. This is an unchangeable reality to thecurrent classroom learning environment in China,students acquire relevant knowledge by acarrier, or a media, or information from others, it is totally a form of interlanguage, but not aprocess of natural acquisition. On the other hand, rapid development and reform of the societycomes with higher requirements and standards by learners and the society, however, the currentlearning environment for English majors cannot meet the needs of learners and society, and thesetwo aspects will continuously push the reform and development of class learning environment,which has already become the crucial problem to solve.

1.2 Research Purpose
With the advancement of informative technology all over the world, more and morerequirements and needs are demanded to English majors' education, and learners have also raisedtheir thinking height and professional requirements to the study conditions, especially for theirclassroom learning environment. At present, more and more educators, scholars and Englishteachers put forward to build an active and rich learning environment that is useful to cultivatestudents' own ability (such as independent learning ability, innovation ability,etc) and to break up the old class learning patterns. For this reason, during the process of the reform, manyuniversities were holding on the concept of "Student-centered, Talent-first" strategy. Some otherreformers consider that the new classroom learning environment should bring the networktechniques into class, which could provide students more learning resources, and it is alsohelpful for the development of students themselves.
