2.1 Learning Strategy
The language learning involves philosophy, pedagogy, psychology, sociologyand anthropology. Learning strategy is a subject integrating the linguistics withpsychology. The foreign research about the language learning strategy has an earlyhistory, which can be traced back to the late 20th century. The research of the originon the language learning strategy is marked by “the study method of inference inforeign language” (Carton, 1966). The further researches are more for the learners’characteristics and are often descriptive. For example, Rubin summarized the featuresand methods of the successful language learners. Bialystok explored the relationbetween learning strategies and academic records. These researches aimed atsumming up and expanding the characteristics and the methods to contribute to otherlearners.

Conclusion


According to the findings in this study, we can get several implications onvocabulary teaching and learning.
1. Both the English teachers and students should pay more attention to the studyof vocabulary learning strategies. Teachers should strengthen the theoretical study toenhance the guiding level of students. In our traditional teaching, teachers are themain forces and students accept knowledge passively. So, teachers should change theteaching methods and learn more about the knowledge of the vocabulary learningstrategies. During our English teaching, teachers should help students adopt as manylearning strategies on vocabulary as possible. Right now, vocabulary is still theemphasis and difficulty of English teaching. From the questionnaire, we can knowthat guess is a widely utilized learning strategy, and it is close to English score. The main reason is that widening proportion of reading comprehension in College EnglishTest raises the requirements of vocabulary. Nevertheless, the non-English majors havelimited vocabualry, and they have to guess the meaning of the new words from thecontext. It follows that guiding students to have a good command of Englishvocabulary, improving reading ability, enhancing English results are the Englishteaching focal points.
