To discuss English neologism, first and for most, weshould talk about what are the cradles for the birth and development of neologism. I putit into four parts. They are the development of social culture, the development in scienceand technology，the development in economy and the reforms and changes in politics.Quite a number of researches related with new words and expressions have beenconducted during the recent years. Neologists have been creating new theories and waysto analyze the newly-bom words, from such sources as dictionaries, newspaper,magazines, esp. online data bases. Fast development of technologies like biotech,computer has contribute to fast development of new words, for internet is the mostavailable tool for everyone around the world to make use of，this is the most convenientway to get to the newly-coined words and let them be a hit among people，esp. youngpeople, who play an important role to transport the neologisms here and there.
What kind of words are neologisms? .How should they be used in different ways?Researchers have been confused by such kinds of questions for years. To answerthese questions, many experiments have been carried out, but no consensus has beenreached so far. This is acceptable because researchers from different backgrounds maydefine neologism in different ways.According to Bloomfield, neologisms mainly mean new words，and such new wordswould often directly reflect a specific individual, publication, period or event. The term neologism was originated around 1800.
