This article analyzes the unreasonable livingenvironment of the female groups in The Awakening and explores factors of absurdity.Represented by Edna, the novel discovers the absurd living conditions of females,coming from the concepts and customs of a patriarchal society. Absurdity in TheAwakening is also represented in the completely indifferent reactions of some women inthe novel when they in the face of the irrational situation is which they exist and theattitudes such as confusion from the male groups when they face a woken woman. In fact,these constitute the existing environment of females.Aesthetics is philosophy of beauty coming from life. From a positive viewpoint, theaesthetic category is the elaboration of when humans discover their dignity, their courage,and their strength to pursue truth.
