摘要:最近,存在很多的问题,在英语听力教学在较高职业技术教育的现状不那么令人满意。据了解,英语听力教学是一个棘手的问题,大部分学校已成为普遍。下面的部分将重点现状听力教学我国高等职业技术学院。
n three kinds of teaching forms: English original movies,English videos and Englishsongs. By means of the application to English listening class in higher-Vocational &Technical College,we find that more visual, auditory and vivid stimulation to students,braincan indeed excite students' enthusiasm and attract their eyes. As is shown in above figures,Multimodality teaching method-based is really beneficial to enhance the students' listeningcomprehension ability. Moreover, with the improvement of listening ability, accordingly, itdoes have influence on students' speaking ability, the ability of reading comprehension,writing proficiency and so on.
Of course, it is known that every coin has its two sides; multimodality-based teachingmethod, as an emerging teaching method also has drawbacks unavoidably. Nothing is perfect.We expect, however, more and more precious advice or suggestions will be added to it. Afterall, union is strength. With the cooperation of every scholar, we believe multimodalityteaching method is bound to play an immeasurable role in English listening teaching,becausemultimodality-based teaching method indeed has the following advantages:
(1) It can supply students with authentic language learning environment which is crucial in foreign language learning.
(2) It can really activate students' learning enthusiasm and interest and make them putmost of their energy into learning English.
(3) It enables students to form the habit of practicing the spoken English, becausethrough seeing the English original movies, English videos or singing the English songs canstimulate students' speaking motives and make them want to express themselves in English.
Actually, there are all sorts of factors which impact on listening understanding, such as:①the obstacle of linguistic knowledge like phonetic, speech speed, vocabulary and grammar ;②the obstacle of cultural background, that is, cultural difference and cultural gap;③listening habit,psychological factors, external environment and so on. Among them, cultureis playing an immeasurable role in listening understanding. Therefore, we have to stress theimportance of culture, because Chinese students are strange to foreign culture. However,according to listening understanding theory, after receiving the listening information, thehearer will search for associated information which has relation with the heard contents inorder to look for the most probable or appropriate meaning in present linguistic context. But,it makes Chinese students unable to generate equal understanding like natives due to lack ofthe common life experience. Hence,in the process of English listening teaching,we shouldemploy all kinds of video material and vivid, authentic dialogues to let students keenly awareof a nation’ s culture. Nevertheless, in the study, multimodality teaching method basicallyovercomes all the above influencing factors and it will, therefore, exert far-reaching impacton English listening teaching and learning.
