Law for Accounting coursework question
Serena has an extensive wardrobe of designer clothes. To create space in her wardrobe for a new dress she had ordered from Blair’s fashion house, she decided to sell a couple of dresses, one a vintage Galileo and one by Columbus.
In December, Serena advertised the Galileo for sale in the Sunday Times Style section, stating:
“Urgent. Immediate sale required. Only bids over £20,000 will be accepted. Contact me on 07770 123456.”
Eric, her younger brother, left a message on Serena’s mobile offering to buy the Galileo for £19,500 as it would make the perfect birthday present for his girlfriend. Serena listened to the message and then deleted it.
Chuck, a collector of vintage dresses, rang to say he would pay £22,000 for the Galileo “subject to a satisfactory inspection by a costume expert.” Serena replied that she was not inclined to accept and asked whether Chuck would be interested in instead purchasing the Columbus. Chuck said he would think about it.
Jenny was the seamstress employed by Blair to sew her designs. Serena promised Jenny £4,000 when the dress was finished, if she “followed Blair’s design to the T”. Jenny said “Thank you, that’s very kind.”
In January, after thinking further about what Chuck had said, Serena arranged for the Galileo dress to be inspected by a V&A fashion expert who pronounced it to be in perfect condition.
Chuck told Serena he would like to purchase the Columbus, whereupon Serena rang Eric (whom she liked better than Chuck) to say that she accepted his offer to buy the Galileo but Eric said that his girlfriend’s birthday had passed and he no longer wanted the dress.
In February, Chuck received an invoice from Serena for £20,000 for the Columbus dress. This surprised him as previously he had never seen a dress by Columbus selling for that much. He therefore decided that, after all, he did not want to buy it.
The new dress designed by Blair, which had been sewn to Jenny’s usual high standards, fit Serena perfectly. 代写英语论文,代写Essay, Coursework, Assignment代写,
