摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,笔者认为比较延续对学生的英语写作成绩有积极影响。对研究前后学生成绩的比较显示,学生的写作成绩显著提高。比较延续是实验中唯一的变量,很明显,学生成绩的提高是由于比较延续的教学。无论是在学习还是写作方面,对比延续都强调了语境的作用。

本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,笔者认为比较延续对学生的英语写作态度也有积极影响。根据问卷调查的结果,可以得出结论,大多数人对写作持积极态度,但仍有少数人对英语写作缺乏积极性和兴趣。一方面,它与比较延续的有趣故事密不可分,这刺激了学生的内生性表达,这是一个优于枯燥写作的优势。

CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION

1.1 Research Background

Writing is the main means to measure students’ language output ability and application ability and it is also an important method to exhibit students’ English level. The English Curriculum Standard for Senior High Schools (2020 Revision) describes clearly that students should meet the following writing requirements when they graduate from high school: First of all, they can use the correct words and grammatical structures to express and they can briefly describe their own or others’ experiences as well as give examples to explain their points. Secondly, they are able to introduce major Chinese and foreign festivals and Chinese traditional culture essence. Thirdly, they are able to express meaning with logical relevance in their writings and they are capable of improving the expression effect with the help of multimodal discourse resources. What is more, since 2014, the policy of college entrance examination has been adjusted. As for English test in college entrance examination, the score of writing increases to 40 points from previous 25 points. All these are living proofs of the increasingly growing significance of writing skill.

Nevertheless, there are still some obstacles hindering the improvement of students’ writing skill. That is students’ weak interest in English writing and some teachers’ wrong teaching method (Liu, 2020). The questionnaire issued by the author also indicates that students have less enthusiasm in writing class where they can’t help but get distracted. Even if some students think writing is vital, it is because writing accounts for large proportion on tests, rather than their internal motivation toward it. After class, they barely practice their writing and are inclined to give up once coming across difficulties.


1.2 Research Purpose

Firstly, this paper applies comparative continuation to the writing class in order to explore an effective teaching method of comparative continuation. Secondly, this paper verifies whether comparative continuation can improve students’ English writing level through the analysis of the pre-test and post-test scores of the control class and the experiment class and whether it has effect on students’ attitudes and motivation toward writing.

From a theoretical point of view, firstly, most of domestic research aimed at undergraduates but only a few in high school students. Secondly, the relevant research mainly targeted the verification of the alignment effects of comparative continuation, but had less attention to the aspect of students’ attitude and motivation towards English writing. Therefore, this paper applying comparative continuation to the classroom enriches the relevant empirical research of comparative continuation. 

From a practical point of view, this paper provides more choices for the reading teaching and a novel perspective for English teachers’ reading teaching.
