摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本研究以建构主义理论和英语学习活动观为理论基础,旨在回答以下三个问题:(1)高中英语教师对主题意义探究的认知情况如何?(2)高中英语教师在基于主题意义探究的英语阅读教学中主要采用哪些教学策略?

ficances of this research,this thesis,withconstructivism as the framework,will point out the senior high school teachers’cognition of exploration of thematic meaning,the main teaching strategies and theeffect of implementation.The results of this research may be able to enrich thetheoretical content of teachers’related fields,and expand the systematic researchbased on the thematic meaning exploration.

When it comes to practical significances,in the context of cultivating the corecompetencies of Chinese students,the Curriculum Standards promulgated in 2017encourages students to explore the meaning of the theme and use the discourse as thecarrier to cultivate their language ability,cultural awareness,thinking capacity andlearning ability.In this process,it is unquestionable about the importance of Englishreading.Lee&Horng-Yi(2014)pointed out that the integration of inquiry teachingand theme-based instruction is a good way for teachers to teach English as a foreignlanguage.Therefore,it is imperative to strengthen and improve existing Englishreading instruction methods,explore advanced English reading teaching methods,andenhance teaching effects.

Chapter 2 Literature review

2.1 Definition of Thematic Meaning Exploration

Cheng Xiaotang(程晓堂,2018)believes that classroom teaching based on theexploration of thematic meaning is a theme-based teaching that focuses on a certaintheme,goals,contents and teaching activities of instruction.Qie Liqin(郄利芹,2021)proposes that teaching based on thematic meaning exploration is a foreign languageteaching model that integrates language and content.Learners focus on a specificsubject,use them in real situations through exploratory understanding of the content oflanguage materials to complete tasks and finally master language skills.Mei Demingand Wang Qiang(梅德明、王蔷,2018)indicate that the exploration of the theme is thelearning,discussion,evaluation and appreciation of the Chinese and foreign culturecarried by the text;it is also the process by which students comprehensively learn andapply language knowledge,cultural knowledge,language skills and learning strategiesin the context.

The thematic meaning exploration is a kind of teaching philosophy.TheCurriculum Standards proposes that the theme provides a thematic scope or a thematiccontext for language learning.Students’exploration of thematic meaning should be themost important part of their language learning,which directly affects the degree of textcomprehension,the level of thinking development,and effectiveness of language learning.At the same time,it also mentions that the Curriculum Standards shouldregard the exploration of thematic learning as the core task of teaching and learningand integrate the learning contents in order to guide the integrated development ofstudents’language ability,cultural awareness,thinking capacity and learning ability(梅德明、王蔷,2020).

In summary,thematic meaning exploration is a teaching philosophy,andexploring the meaning of the theme is a process of language learning.In this article,the definition of thematic meaning exploration is a process in which students,underthe guidance of teachers,participate in a series of activities around the theme toexplore the meaning of the text,and comprehensively learn and apply languageknowledge,cultural knowledge,language skills and learning strategies.
