摘要:本文是一篇高中英语论文,本研究通过问卷调查,访谈和测试,以临沂市蒙凌实验学校高二11班的46名学生为研究对象,进行了为期4个月的两轮行动研究。

本文是一篇高中英语论文,本研究主要研究以下两个问题:思维导图对学生的英语阅读能力有什么影响?思维导图对学生的英语阅读兴趣有什么影响?最后通过SPSS16.0对研究收集的各项数据进行分析。

CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Research

The English Curriculum Standards for General High Schools(2017)stated thatthe cultivation goal of general high schools is to further improve students’comprehensive quality and focus on developing students’key competences from fouraspects:language ability,cultural character,thinking quality and learning ability.Students should have ideal beliefs and a sense of social responsibility.The newEnglish curriculum standards pointed that students should develop their scientific andcultural literacy and lifelong learning ability.While further developing students’comprehensive language skills,teachers should pay more attention to improvingstudents’ability of communicating appropriately in English,gradually developingstudents’ability to think and express themselves in English.The new Englishcurriculum standards indicated a higher demand for English teaching in senior highschools.Thus the English reading teaching in high school is not only to let studentslearn the knowledge of the discourse,but also to let them sort out the complexrelationships that exist between the elements of the discourse,such as the relationshipbetween sentences and sentences,paragraphs and paragraphs,headings and text,textand diagrams,especially the relationship between discourse paragraphs and therelationship between the parts of the discourse and the discourse topic.

In terms of the current situation of English education in China,although somebreakthroughs have been made in China’s education reform in recent years,most ofthe classroom teaching objectives are still achieved at a superficial or formal level inprimary and secondary schools because of the pressure of examinations and Englishreading classes cannot be called real reading teaching because the teaching content ofthese reading classes is still limited to language,vocabulary,grammar knowledge,andso on.The current problems of English reading teaching in high school are mainlyconcentrated on three aspects:first,reading teaching focuses on language knowledgeof the reading texts rather than reading the texts as a whole;

1.2 Purpose of the Research

With the reading comprehension of the college entrance examination focusingmore on the development of students’integrated ability of inferring and analyzing,teachers are constantly seeking new ways of teaching to improve the effectiveness ofEnglish reading teaching.The main purpose of this research is to investigate how toapply Mind Map into high school English reading teaching and whether the use ofMind Map can stimulate students’interest in English reading,and improve theirreading ability.In addition,this research will analyze the effects of Mind Map onEnglish reading test performance in details,especially the five types of questions inreading comprehension:details,inference,main idea,guessing and choosing 5 from 7.This research hopes to use Mind Map as an effective method to improve Englishreading teaching and help students improve their comprehension of English readingtexts.
