代写英国论文Keeping Animals in Zoos: a Reasonable Compromise

Introduction
Since ancient time, human beings have hunted wild animals for consumption and sport. The oldest known zoological collection was revealed during excavations at Hierakonpolis, Egypt in 2009, of a 3500 B.C. menagerie . Back to the 4th century, zoos existed in most of the Greek cities. The Roman emperors kept animals privately for study and entertaining in the arena. During the Medieval period in England, the Lion Tower, in which animals were kept, first opened to the public in the 16th century . Since then, captured animals were exhibit in zoos for human amusement and entertainment.

Traditionally, zoos serve to satisfy people's curiosity and provide them with opportunities to view exotic wild animals. However, the past few decades saw a dramatic change of people’s view towards zoos. With the animal rights movement emerged in early 1960s, people began to realize that “ascription of rights to animals is supported by a way of thinking about morality that is principled, nonarbitrary, nonprejudicial, and rationally defensible. (Tom Regan, 2003) ” Plus the factor that wild animals were increasingly difficult to procure for exhibition in the zoos as they are dropping in numbers, there is increased awareness about the impact of human’s activity on the earth’s biodiversity. This awareness has translated to the public’s adverseness towards keeping animals in zoos. They say this move is the same as imprisonment. Animals in captive environments are deprived of freedom and compelled to be disturbed by human beings. Keeping animals, in their viewpoint, is brutal and immoral.

In my opinion, instead of entertainment and amusement, the role of modern zoo is more diversified than the ancient time. Kept in zoos, endangered animal can be protected to the largest extent, and general public can get education in conservation and environmental issues. In this sense, I think keeping animals in zoos is a reasonable compromise between protecting endangered species and creating natural habitat for these animals. Its advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Based on the story that the world's most famous polar bear dead in zoo, this paper will first justify keeping animals in zoos, then this paper will propose a reasonable system to make sure animals can’t escape in the future.

3. Suggested system to ensure animals stay in zoos in the future

4. Conclusion
Keeping animals in zoos will undoubtedly constrain them, and the small cages will exert bad impact physically and psychologically on animals. However, from the above analysis we can see that, keeping animals in zoos can protect them from the changed environment caused by human activities, and provide a unique chance for many people to explorehttps://www.51lunwen.org/yinyulunwentigang/2010/0106/1345488366.html  different species closely as long as animals’ welfare is in place. Although many challenging aspects -- conservation, medicine, education--are involved in zoo management, many large zoos have already built a foundation of expertise in animal behavior.
