摘要:本文是一篇加拿大留学生学期论文,主要介绍了当今社会的“愤青”现象及这种现象产生的原因。

on, rather rightly or wrongly, with a range of issues, including anti social behavior, crime, welfare dependency and a depiction of a socially excluded underclass eschewing work and disengaged from mainstreams norms and values (Arthurson, 2004). Social problems and sometimes criminality characterize the daily lives of the inhabitants and where from time to time, social tensions get too high, occasionally and even resulting in urban riots. These estates are well known locally and often also highly stigmatized. (Andersson, 2005).

Added to that, Busch-Geertsema believes that spatial concentrations of poor and disadvantaged groups generate a range of negative effects. The author goes further and added that a poor neighborhood image can stigmatize its inhabitants and undermine their jobs opportunities (Busch-Geertsema, 2007:4). Furthermore, people with marginal incomes often spend money on drugs, alcohol or tobacco instead of food, clothes and shelter. In other words, basic human needs are not priorities; money is rather invested in short term pleasures.

Social ills within social housing estates
Deprived or depressed urban areas are mainly seen as 'pockets of poverty' - spatial concentrations of poor and excluded people (Lee and Murie 1999. In this understanding the main reason for the development of problem areas is the general processes that create inequality and poverty in the cities, namely global and local economic restructuring processes and defective welfare policies (Musterd et al 1999, Parkinson 1998). Deprived urban areas are understood as just another aspect of deprivation stemming from the general exclusion of people in globalised cities. (Andersen, 2001)

Being unable to take advantage of development and globalization, the culture of poverty predominates within deprived areas and is perpetrated from one generation to the next. Further to it, social ills such as alcoholism, drug addiction, vandalism, crime and problems with young people take place, prostitution, school failure and unemployment.

Impact of social ills on youth
Most people are puppets of social ills and the youth are one of the easy target. Each teenager has a different in their environment. The more various teenagers there are, the more the problem is. Competition, usurpation, poverty, and many other occur. The teenagers are one of the easy targets because of their weaknesses. Everyone would agree about some social teenagers' problems that occur nowadays are one of an unpleasant one. Basically, everyone will blame to their environment first. Environment around teenager, parents, friends, teachers, and surrounding, is very important to one's teenage life. (Yitica, 2009)

The environment in which youth are grown up can influence the livelihood of delinquency. Existing research points to a powerful connection between residing in an adverse environment and participating in criminal acts (McCord, Widom, and Crowell, 2001). Sociological theories of deviance hypothesize that 'disorganized neighborhoods have weak social control networks; that weak social control result from isolation among residents and high residential turnover, allows criminal activity to go unmonitored' (Herrenkohl et al., 2001:221). Although researchers debate the interaction between environmental and personal factors, most agree that
