Chapter One Introduction

犯的错误是不可避免的,当学习语言。它是一种常见的和不可避免的现象,尤其是在写作。从这些错误中,教师可能会发现一些学生的语言收购规则,并有利于提高语言教学和学习。本文旨在分析所犯的错误英语专业和非英语专业学生的作品。
Committing errors is inevitable when learning language. It is a common andunavoidable phenomenon especial in writing. From these errors the teachers may discoversome language acquiring rules of the students and help to improve language teaching andlearning. The thesis is designed to analyze the errors committed by English major andnon-English major students' writings.


1.1 Background
写作是四大技能,语言能力,即,写作,听力,口语和阅读。外语界指出,一个通道CET-4的学生的写作分数不高。写作是一项艰巨的任务,因为它是一个组合的形式和内容。很多中国学生认为英语写作之美是。然而,这是非常重要的,学生完善和提高自己的写作能力。由于Raimes(1983)认为,写作可以帮助学生学习。错误是不可避免的,在学习语言的过程中,特别是在写作。虽然很多大学生已经学英语多年,他们可以不写完美的英语作文。教师总是可以找到很多的错误。一方面,一些怪异的程度,写作可以反映哪些方面已经掌握了英语的学生。因此,有必要提高学生的写作能力。另一方面,从错误中教师可识别学生的问题和困难,并有利于提高语言教学和学习。另外,它可以提供一些有价值和有用的方式为学生处理困难的问题。因此,本文旨在分析高校学生的英语写作中的错误。
Writing is one of the four major skills of language competence, namely, writing,listening, speaking, and reading. In Foreign Language World one passage stated thatstudents' writing scores of CET-4 are not high. Writing is a difficult task because it is acombination of form and content. A lot of Chinese students think English writing isdifficult. However, it is very important for students to perfect and improve their writingproficiency. As Raimes (1983) holds that writing could help students to learn.Errors are inevitable in the process of language learning, especially in writing.Although a lot of college students have learned English for many years, they can not writeperfect English compositions. Teachers can always find a lot of errors. On one hand, tosome extent, writing can reflect which aspects of English the students have mastered.Therefore, it's necessary to improve students' writing ability. On the other hand, from theerrors the teachers may identify students' problems and difficulties and help to improvelanguage teaching and learning. Further more, it can provide some valuable and usefulways for students to deal with the difficult problems. Therefore, this thesis is designed toanalyze the errors in the English writings of college students.


1.2 The Purpose of the Study
Writing, one of the two productive skills, can reflect how well the language pointshave been mastered and how students have learned the language. Errors found in thewritings are of significance for both the teachers and students. In fact, many researchers have done a lot of related studies on error analysis.However, some researchers aim at one kind of errors such as spelling, tense errors. Someof them focus on the proportion of the errors. The subjects of these researches range fromhigh school students, college students, distance-learning students to many others.However, there are few researches on the comparative analysis of the errors committed byEnglish major and non-English major students. The author believes that it is worthmaking an overall comparative analysis of the errors between English major andnon-English major students.
Through the study, the author aims to discover some similarities and also somedifferences in English majors and non-English majors' writings. Based on the data resultof this research, both teachers and students may know better in which aspects of languagelearning or writing students are weak.
