The application of the theory of comparative analysis of professional Chinese-English translation teaching in higher vocational English [5]

摘要:The main purpose of the research is to testify whether CAT-based approach is moreeffective in improving students’ translation competence. According to the researchobjective, the author has proposed two hypotheses which have been testified throughteaching experiment, translation tests, questionnaires and interview. After that, all therequired statistics are collected and analyzed by SPSS version 16.0. In this chapter, theauthor will come to a conclusion of the whole thesis. Firstly, the major findings aresummarized. Then pedagogical implications of this study are showed clearly. Lastly, thelimitations of this research are indicated and the suggestions for further studies are putforward.

5.2.2 Implications for Students
Students also play an essential part in applying CAT-d approach to translationteaching. There are some suggestions for students to take best advantages of this approach.1) Students should familiarize themselves with what they would learn and somerelevant strategies and methods before each class. For example, if students will learn CATin next class, they would go to library or go on-line to learn something related to CAT.They can read the theoretical materials about CAT, and also they can read some examplesthat apply CAT.2) Given that there are some cooperative activities in the process of translation classguided by CAT-d approach, students should trust each other and have the high spirit ofcooperation. In order to assure the best effective of the translation teaching, all the students should participate in group work willingly and actively rather than hesitate to ask fornecessary help or keep silent.
