对于音位的不完全对应,有元音/i://///:////a////u://////e///和辅音/p//b//t//d//k//g/。

CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the research

When learning a language, we need to know three areas which include phonetics, lexicology and grammar. Among these three areas, phonetics is essential. “Phonetics, the study and science of speech sounds, is a branch of linguistic studies. It is closelyconnected with the study of grammar, lexicology and so on.” (Meng Xianzhong,2016). Gleason (1957) notes in the book An Introduction to Descriptive Linguistics “Aspeaking knowledge of a language, therefore, requires very close to a one hundredpercent control of the phonology and control of from fifty to ninety percent of thegrammar, while one can frequently do a deal with one percent or even less of thevocabulary”. Brown (2002) states that “ If learners do not have a good command offluent and standard English pronunciation and intonation, it may affect their interestand confidence in English learning, which will accordingly hinder the buildup of goodEnglish linguistic skills and communicative competence.” Gui Cankun (1985) claimsthat “To learn English well, the most important thing lies in pronunciation; to graspthe pronunciation well, intonation is by no means enough. English phonetics wouldalso be a guide to prompt the mastery of pronunciation.” Pronunciation is thefoundation of language learning and the most important part of foreign languagelearning and teaching in the primary stage. Laying a good foundation of pronunciationcan help students make rapid progress in the development of oral English andlistening comprehension ability in the future, which are important links for students inthe advanced stage. Therefore, phonetics learning and teaching are the key factorswhich affect the whole body. In order to lay a good foundation for future Englishlearning, it is necessary for English beginners to learn English phonetics well.

1.2 Research significance

1.2.1 Theoretical significance of the research

In view of the current researches, the studies (Shi Qingquan, 2002, PeiGuanggang, 2010, Pang Yumei& Zhou Bin , 2012, Chai Yanzhen, 2013) are mainlyabout the negative transfer of first language in the acquisition of second languagefrom the perspective of students in university and high schools, but there are a fewresearches which are on the transfer from Chinese pinyin to English phoneticslearning for primary school students.

This paper studies the negative transfer of Chinese pinyin on English phoneticslearning for primary school students and tries to provide reference and perfect thetheoretical framework of negative transfer of Chinese pinyin in the process of Englishphonetics acquisition.

1.2.2 Practical significance of the research

In our country, most students do not have the language environment to learn andutter English. Most Chinese students acquire relevant English knowledge and skillsonly through classroom learning. So it is particularly important to help Chinesestudents build a solid foundation of pronunciation. What’s more, pronunciationteaching should also be paid enough at论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
