本文是一篇小学英语教学论文,本研究调查结果表明:(1)S小学将图画书教学作为学校的常规英语课程。在制定教学目标时,主要目标是语言知识、语言能力和思维技能。

1.1 Research Background
The Compulsory English Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition)states that thelanguage learning needs a lot of input.It is clearly stated that English curriculum incompulsory education has the dual nature of instrumentality and humanism.It is alsopointed out that'through English courses,students can develop their basic Englishlistening,speaking,and writing skills,and communicate with others in English.It isimportant to enrich the curriculum resources.According to the demands of teachingand learning,the English classes should offer some resources which are close to thestudents'linguistic ability and daily life.Therefore,we should not only pay attention tothe instrumentality but also pay attention to the humanity in English teaching.Thenew curriculum standard redefines the value of English teaching,which means thereconstruction of English teaching objectives brings new challenges to Englishteachers.Language knowledge,thinking ability and comprehensive humanisticquality should be reflected in English teaching objectives.However,the textbooksused in traditional English teaching have some limitations.The advantages andcharacteristics of picture books can make up for the limitations of traditional teachingtextbooks.So English picture book teaching has become a trend in English teachingeducation.English picture books are English reading materials with language norms.They have different cultural expressions and are suitable for students'physical andmental development.When teachers teach picture books,they can greatly mobilizestudents'enthusiasm for learning,so as to feel the cultural characteristics ofEnglish-speaking countries and appreciate English-speaking countries’culture and art.
1.2 Research Purpose and Significance
As we all know,now picture books used in English teaching are very popular inour country.In many schools,English picture books are well used in English teaching,and there are also many studies on the use of picture books in primary school Englishteaching.But this study is targeted to the author’school.It is mainly to have a better understanding of the current situation of English picture books used in this schoolEnglish teaching.It includes the students and the teacher’s attitude towards Englishpicture books in English class,and the factors influencing English picture books usedin English teaching and through the investigation,the author hopes to find influencingfactors of English picture books used in English teaching and the deficiency,and inline with this,putting forward some suggestions and countermeasures.
