4.1 The levels of Student-perceived Teacher Support and English LearnerEngagement

In order to understand the general situation of student-perceived teacher support,Englishlearner engagement and the differences of genders and grades,descriptive statistics,one-wayANOVA and independent sample t-test were used to carry out the analysis.

4.1.1 Student-perceived Teacher Support

The overall and detailed situation of student-perceived teacher support were firstdescribed,and the differences of genders and grades on student-perceived teacher supportwere explored.SPTS-S is a six-point scale,therefore,this study uses Qin's level classificationstandard(2003).According to Qin's level classification standard(2003),we know that meanscore of a certain research variable higher than 4.5 represents it is at a high level.And themidpoint is 3,the 50%point,so the average score between 3 and 4.5 shows that this variableis at a moderate level;the average score below 3 is considered at a low level.

4.1.1.1 Overall Student-perceived Teacher Support

To have a comprehensive understanding of the junior middle school student-perceivedteacher support,descriptive statistics of each dimension of student-perceived teacher supportare shown in Table 4-1.

5.1 Major Findings

The aim of this study is to examine the current situation of perceived teacher support,English learner engagement and English achievement among junior middle school students.In addition,the mediating role of learner engagement in the relationship between perceivedteacher support and English achievement is also the focus of this study.In this study,424valid questionnaires were statistically analyzed and eight subjects participated in theinterviews.SPTS-S and ELE-S were used to measure student-perceived teacher support andlearner engagement respectively,and the mean scores of the mid-term and final Englishexams were used to measure students'English achievement.The study finds that whenstudents perceive more teacher support,their attitudes towards their learning are morepositive,and their engagement is more into learning.The findings of the study consist of twoparts:quantitative and qualitative 论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
