摘要:本文是一篇英语教育毕业论文,通过问卷调查和访谈,作者对康奈尔笔记系统在高中英语课堂上的应用有了大致的了解。本研究主要从三个方面分析康奈尔笔记系统的应用:(1)南宁市第三十三中学英语课堂应用康奈尔笔记系统的总体情况。(2) 不同性别的学生在英语课堂上使用康奈尔笔记系统的情况存在差异。

本文是一篇英语教育毕业论文,本研究从五个维度考察了康奈尔笔记系统在南宁市第三十三中学英语课堂上的应用。一般来说,康奈尔大学笔记系统的应用是一般的。具体而言,学生对Cornell笔记系统的态度和功能有很高的认可度,在笔记的技术维度上的表现可以接受,但在复习和指导笔记方面的认可度较低。

Chapter One Introduction

1.1 Research Background

With the in-depth development of foreign language teaching research, scholarshave begun to emphasize students’ learning independence, and at the same timerecognized that effective language learning strategies are necessary for successfulmastery of a foreign language. English Curriculum Standards for General HighSchools(2017 Edition) states that enabling students to learn to use and adapt Englishlearning strategies actively is a critical way to improve students’ learning ability. In anenvironment where education is placing more and more emphasis on the role ofstudents as subjects, we should focus on cultivating students’ effective use of learningstrategies and teaching them to use strategies independently and efficiently forlearning, so as to strengthen their learning ability and create conditions for lifelonglearning. In middle school English class, the teacher’s basic task is to impartknowledge through lectures, while students listen to lectures to understand andremember knowledge (Friedmann 1986). Note-taking while listening is one of themost common ways middle school students listen to lectures. As a crucial learningstrategy, note-taking usually helps students to focus on the lecture and retain thecontent taught by the teacher in the classroom in the forms of words. At the same time,it can also provide content basis for the review after class.

Studies have shown that note-taking is an effective learning strategy. For manyyears, Hartley and Davies (1978) and Ladas (1981) have compared the experiment ofclassroom note-taking and compared the two situations of only listening to the teacherand taking notes while listening. The conclusion is that taking notes while listening ismore effective than only listening to the teacher. 

1.2 Purpose of the Research

At present, scholars at home and abroad mainly focus on the role of the Cornell Note-taking System in the learning of various majors and subjects of college studentsand senior high school students, studying how to instruct students to use the CornellNote-taking System, comparing the effectiveness of the Cornell Note-taking Systemand other notes, and the relationship between the use of the Cornell Note-takingSystem and students’ performance. However, few people have mentioned the currentsituation of senior high school students’ use of the Cornell Note-taking System in theclass. At present, only researchers have conducted applied research on the CornellNote-taking System in senior high school biology teaching (Luo, 2018), senior highschool chemistry teaching (Jia, 2020), and senior high school chemistry learning (Xie,2017), while studies on using the Cornell Note-taking System in senior high schoolEnglish class has only been applied in grammar teaching (Wang, 2020), most of theresearch on class notes is limited to ordinary notes.
