Conclusion
The study investigated the application of formative assessment in Englishaudio-visual-oral teaching for English majors. However, there are some limitations of thepresent study:
(1) The first limitation of the study is the size of its samples. Only 56 students fromtwo classes were involved in the study. It’s not big enough. That could influence theexternal validity of the study.
(2) The second limitation of the study is that the time of the experiment lasted for onlya semester, which is a little bit short. It would be better that the study could be carried outfor one or two years. Under that situation, more and more findings and problems would befound and solved.
(3) The third limitation of the study is that when questionnaire and interview wereconducted, some misunderstandings were possible, so whether the students had expressedtheir true ideas seriously should be considered by the author.
