摘要:本文是一篇英语教学论文发表,本研究探讨了普通高中语法教学的现状,并为我们提供了一些关于影响语法教学的因素的见解,调查对象仅为300名同年级学生和30名教师,并邀请了12名学生和6名教师进行访谈,因此有限的调查对象不能代表该地区的所有教师和学生。调查范围相对狭窄,不能代表中国普通高中英语语法教学的现状。

本文是一篇英语教学论文发表,本研究对县城普通高中语法教学现状进行了调查,并分析了其存在的问题,以满足新课程标准的要求,因此,可以在更广泛的地区获得更全面的语法教学画面。
Chapter One Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study

The new era requires that English course should develop students’comprehensivelanguage application ability based on students’learning interest,life experience andcognitive level,so that the process of language learning becomes a process in whichstudents’positive emotional attitude,comprehensive cross-cultural communication abilityand autonomous learning ability should be fostered.Starting from the necessity andimportance of grammar for senior high school students’learning,the study states thespecific background of grammar research with the clear requirements of grammar teachingput forward by the New Curriculum Standards.

English is the most widely used language in the world today,with a very strictgrammatical system.Widdowson,a famous linguist,once mentioned,without words,youcannot express yourself,and without grammar,language is like a chicken without bones[1].It is vividly demonstrated that grammar plays an extremely important role in Englishlearning.Meanwhile,English is a compulsory course for senior high school students inChina.In senior high school English teaching,grammar plays a significant role in students’language level,understanding and application[2].The New English Curriculum Standardsclearly point out that language knowledge is one of the six elements of course content,andgrammar is an important part of language knowledge[3].In the college entranceexamination of Jiangxi Province,there is a special section to examine students’ability touse language knowledge.The grammar section of the college entrance examination mainlyincludes cloze filling,grammar filling,error correcting and writing,and the score relatingto grammar is up 53.3%of the total score.It can be seen that grammar learning is veryimportant.Therefore,attention should be paid to grammar teaching.

1.2 Purpose and Significance of the Study

It can be found that there are abundant researches on senior high school Englishgrammar,which focus on the combination of theory and practice,and carry out empiricalresearch on the effectiveness of grammar teaching through various grammar teachingactivities.However,there are not many researchers investigating current situation ofEnglish grammar teaching in senior high school,and if any,their scope of research focuseson urban and city senior high schools.However,the English grammar teaching of regularhigh schools located in small counties,and their current situation of grammar teaching isnot the same as that of urban and city senior high schools.In particular,the Ministry ofEducation revised and released the English Curriculum Standards for Regular Middle Schools in 2020,which aims at outlining English grammar teaching.Moreover,there arefew studies on the current situation of English grammar teaching in senior high schoolbased on revised curriculum standards.Therefore,it is necessary to investigate and studythe current situation of English grammar teaching in senior high schools of regularcounties so as to have a deep understanding of current situation of grammar teachingnationwide.
