摘要:随着语言学,心理学等相关学科的发展和研究的变化,人们形成不同的分析错误的理论和方法,并取得了丰富的成果的结论,但高中学生在英语写作词汇错误分析,我认为有探索的空间。在本文中,错误分析和中介语理论为理论基础,研究中国高中学生在英语写作常用的词汇错误,词汇错误和产生的原因。

(3) They serve as tools by which the learners discover the rules of the TL.The language errors can give directions to the teacher as to how far they have progressed and in what fieldsthe learners are weaker. Therefore the analysis of errors supplies the teacher with information about thevulnerable spot to be focused on in the future teaching. So the purpose of the thesis is to find out thecategories of errors, the sources of errors and measures that teacher and students can take to prevent frommaking errors.1.3 Research ObjectiveThe present study bases its analysis on the lexical errors in the English writings of the Chinese seniorhigh school students in an attempt to have a better understanding of the characteristics of the lexical errorof the Chinese students. To be more specific, the present study aims to achieve the following objectives.Firstly, the study attempts to work out what kinds of lexical errors are frequently committed inChinese Senior High School students’ compositions. This study lays its focus on collecting and analyzingthe lexical errors made by the senior students of Affiliate Middle School of Henan Normal University bymeans of both quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.Secondly, the study aims to find out what the main features of lexical errors of Senior High Schoolstudents’ compositions. There are many kinds of lexical errors in the students' writings, so it is of necessityto analyze the features of them to know the difficulties that the Chinese senior high school students have intheir English writing.Thirdly, the present research tries to explore the major causes which lead to their lexical errors. Theteachers need to know the deep sources of errors in order to help their students to reduce and avoid makingerrors.

 

1.4 The Structure of this Thesis论文结构
This research includes five chapters. The first chapter introduces the background, significance andstructure of the present study. Chapter Two, literature review, mainly presents the theoretical basis of theresearch, including EA and IL, perspectives on the main concepts such as definition of errors anddifferences between errors and mistakes and besides, the previous studies at home and abroad on lexicalerrors are also reviewed. In Chapter Three, the research design is provided, in which three researchquestions, data selection, research methods and research procedures are stated respectively. Chapter Four isthe key part of the thesis, which discusses the results obtained from the empirical study. The research alsotries to explore the major causes of the lexical errors in the students’ writings. Chapter Five is theconclusion of the research, in which the major findings of the research are summarized and the limitationsof the present study are pointed out Based on the findings of the research, this chapter puts forward somesuggestions on English teaching, including proper attitudes toward lexical errors in writing, context-basedvocabulary teaching, necessity of error correction, reinforcing L2 learners’ language knowledge andincreasing vocabulary input and output.
