4.1 Teachers’Awareness of Textbook Redevelopment
This part probes teachers’awareness of textbook redevelopment mainly from thefollowing aspects:teachers’awareness of necessity,importance,responsibility andrights.
4.1.1 The Awareness of Necessity and Importance of TextbookRedevelopment
Seven items in the questionnaire are aimed to investigate teachers’awareness ofnecessity and importance about textbook redevelopment.Quantitative data obtainedfrom the questionnaire was analyzed by descriptive analysis.The detailed informationwas shown in Table 4-1

5.1 Major Findings of the Study
This study seeks to investigate the current situation of teachers’redevelopmentof the content of the new English textbook for senior high schools(PEP Edition),findthe problems exiting in their’textbook redevelopment,and put forward correspondingsuggestions.The findings are summarized and reported below:
In terms of teachers’awareness of textbook redevelopment,less than half of thefront-line teachers really understand the essence of textbook redevelopment.Aconsiderable number of teachers have a biased understanding of textbookredevelopment.What’s more,teachers have disjointed their perception and practice inthe process of textbook redevelopment.Teachers’consciousness of textbookredevelopment has been established,but many of them have not yet connected it withteaching activities.In addition,teachers’autonomy of textbook redevelopment is notstrong due to relying too much on teachers’books or other teaching referencematerials.
