Humor research gives the exploration of the mutual relationship of language, logic, cognition, emotion and reveals the mystery of human language, thought and emotion, so as to further understanding and knowledge of human being is very valuable. Through the research of verbal humor, we can better understand its characteristics, laws and social functions. Humor is not only help people to improve the communicative ability, humanistic aptitude and human relations, but also create a healthy, civilized and harmonious social cultural environment. Second, “Good Luck Charlie” successive won the British Academy Children’s Awards in 2011 and 2012, meanwhile it won 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards. Its novelty and popularity has been affirmed by audiences all around the world. Verbal humor study in situation comedy can help the audience better understand the utterance-meaning, and have a full knowledge of western culture and learn more about exotic cultures. It is a convenient way to open up new horizons of alien culture for the foreign language learner. As the study of meaning in language, verbal humor is a kind of communication of conversational implicature, the discussion of denotation and connotation is one of the basic tasks of pragmatics and pragmatic inference. Therefore, verbal humor is an inevitable important issue in pragmatics study. Finally, the author devotes to find out the charm of verbal humor interpreted by CP and its four sub-maxims. The detailed study of verbal humor can help learners have a better understanding of the conversational implicature, it can also improve verbal communication ability and has a far-reaching significance in literature, aesthetics, anthropology, culturology and relative humanistic disciplines. Thus, it is worth careful study.
